 About the Word “Kimono”

For our Getaway Kimonos style, we use the word “kimono” to describe the flowing silhouette of our lightweight wrap garments. While our designs are modern and functional—created for insect-repellent protection and everyday wear—we acknowledge and respect the kimono’s cultural significance as a traditional Japanese garment with centuries of history and meaning.

Our use of the term is inspired by the comfort and elegance of the shape, rather than an attempt to replicate or appropriate traditional Japanese dress. We are committed to thoughtful design and cultural respect in everything we do.
